How to Create the Perfect Prank
54
Pranks are often portayed as childish pointless acts to cause others pain, but a well-planned prank can become a legendary, almost historical event where nobody gets hurt and plenty of laughs are shared. There are many questions you must ask yourself before pulling a prank and I will go through the process with you now.
Who should I prank?
Maybe you already have somebody in mind, but if you don't then you should find a prime target. It needs to be somebody who takes jokes about themself lightly, but not too lightly. Do not prank the cocky jerk who will plot revenge on you for the rest of his life for exposing that he is a human being. At the same time, don't prank the person who is always quiet and seemingly depressed as they will usually take it too personally. Find somebody who has a balance and who will not hold a joke against you.
How extreme should it be?
Pranks vary in how extreme they can be. Some pranks are harmless while others can be more harmful than should be legal (which is what the next section is about). An example of a light prank would be something like telling somebody that they left one of their belongings at the other side of a building and sending them on a search for it while you are really hiding it. A more extreme prank is the one pictured above. Open a door slightly and place a bucket of water on top of the door. As soon as somebody opens the door, the bucket of water tips over onto their head, soaking them completely. You need a balance of this and, as always, take the person who it is being done to into account.
Is it legal?
This seems like an obvious question to ask yourself, but many people stil constantly forget it. Think of how stupid it would seem if you got fined or even jailed for pulling a prank on somebody. Make sure you check with the law before attempting anything too extreme.
Who is my audience?
A prank without an audience is a show with nobody to watch it. Make sure your prank has an audience and adjust your prank accordingly. If you had several elders as your audience you would make a drastically different prank than if you had, for example, a group of young teenagers.
These are just some of the questions you should ask yourself when creating a prank, but they should prove to help you in making your prank an enjoyable experience for all who are involved.
